Busy, Busy, Busy!

I can't believe how fast the time goes.  We are more than half way through 2012 already!  That makes this my 26th week of the "52 weeks...1 difference" project.  I must apologize for my less than excessive blog updates, as I have found myself quite busy in these summer months.  Although, let me say that the busy schedule will not deter me from my purpose and this is fair warning you will be seeing extra updates over the next few months to make up for it :)

Over the last month or so, I have participated in the Walk for Wishes, the Sacramento Pride Parade, and have been spending quite a bit of time working on a really exciting event with the Sacramento Police Mounted Association called "5-0 Rodeo".  I am very excited about this event and consider it a win-win-win.  This event will bring awareness to the SPMA and their efforts in the community, will benefit the Sacramento Children's Receiving Home, and will be a fun day for families to get the full equine experience.

Stay tuned for more details but here is what we do know for sure...

Rodeo will be held September 1, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sacramento Horseman's Association facility located at 3200 Longview Drive, Sacramento.  The event will be the culmination of a summer-long effort to collect clothing and personal hygiene products for the kids of the Children’s Receiving Home.  The event will feature a BBQ, raffle, and a rodeo inspired equestrian show.

SPMA will begin placing donation barrels throughout  the community at various participating businesses to collect items for the Sacramento Children's Receiving Home.  Large clothing for teens and personal hygiene products are in demand; request ed items include boys and girls body wash, shampoo, and deodorant. The donated items will be presented at the event by members of SPMA and SHA.

I can't wait for this event.  For one, I love horses!  For two, I love kids!  For three, I love Barbeque!  Hope to see you guys there too!
